For those Members-in-good-standing who may be unable to vote in person on Sunday, January 27th, absentee ballots will be made available on January 17th.
 
The members of the Nominating Committee, Josh Alyesh, Richard Schulz and Jack Varon, will be available if you have any questions.

Continuing the New Youth Groups Initiative:
 
We will be continuing the two new youth group initiatives, which we started last Shabbat:
 
1) Starting at 9:45am, for about 30 - 45 minutes, we will hold a Junior Tefilla program for boys & girls from the ages of 9 to 12.  We plan to read (and sing) parts of Pesukei De’Zimra and other portions of Shaharit with the kids reading alternately.
 
 
2) From 10:30am to 11:15am, we will hold a Mommy and Me group for all kids under the age of 3. A parent must be present with their child/children. Toys and books will be available.
 
 
Both of these groups will be held in the room upstairs that is adjacent to the women’s section.  We are certain that the structure of these groups will evolve over time and the timing and the length of these groups may be adjusted as well.
 
We are trying this because we feel there is a demand and we hope that parents take an active interest in helping us further develop these initiatives.

Upcoming Shiur at Shaarei Orah (Jan 19th - Shabbat Parashat Bo):
 
 
The Third Annual Yahrzeit Shiur in Memory of Bonnie Berman a"h, sponsored by the Ladies Shabbos Afternoon Shiur Group, will take place this year on Shabbat, January 19, 2013 at 3pm at Congregation Shaarei Orah (corner of Ogden Avenue and Essex Street). 
Rabbi Chaim Jachter will be speaking on "Tanach vs. Archeology: Resolving A Glaring Contradiction Between Sefer Melachim and Artifacts of King Shishak". 
 
Men, Women and Students are invited to join us!
